I would like to thank you all for your response to the early message we sent out on Monday morning regarding a positive Covid 19 case in the sixth form. On this occasion it was necessary to ask all students to self-isolate to allow me time to liaise with the Public Health Team at Cheshire East before taking any action. We have been able to elicit students who have had close contact with the affected child and will only need to ask those children to self-isolate. The parents/carers of these students have already been contacted via email separately this morning with details of the self-isolation period. If you have not received the email, you are not deemed a close contact and you can return to school on Wednesday 21st October, as normal. A reminder that If you, or a member of your household develops symptoms linked to Covid 19, you must all self-isolate and the affected person must get a test.
We have had a number of cases within the school and for each case we have to take into account differing circumstances which impact on the decisions we make regarding whether a whole year group should self-isolate or whether we are able to refine the process so that only close contacts self-isolate.
