#timetotalk day

time to talk

Last Thursday Alsager school took part in #timetotalk day to raise awareness of our mental health. Throughout the day lessons had a speaking focus on opening up conversations about our mental health. During form time students talked about the importance of #askingtwice. We often say that we are fine when we are not. The #asktwice campaign encourages us to check in on a friend, ask them how they are, ask them how they really are and to take the time to listen. At this time we should all check in on those that we care about and to take them time to listen. We do not need to be experts in mental health to take the time to listen and support. As staff we have also checked in with a colleague, had a drink together, been for a walk and talk or just made time to talk.
If your child is feeling overwhelmed, anxious, sad, low, unmotivated or ‘not themselves’, please get in touch so that we can help in school. All of our staff are able to listen and they will alert the appropriate member of staff in school who can help.
