A relatively quiet week for sport this week however, on Saturday the 1st July, Arthur in Year 9 and Lucy in Year 11 took part in the English Schools Athletics National Championships at Alexandra Stadium in Birmingham. Both performed excellently and gave it their all. Congratulations to Arthur who qualified for the finals and came 9th in the 1500m and ran a 3 second PB of 4:14:19, a new City of Stoke Athletics Club record!Furthermore, a huge well done to Lucy who came 3rd in Long Jump and was 1cm off qualifying for an international vest, which is incredible.
Well done to them both, we are both extremely proud of what they have accomplished this year in each of their events.
