I hope you’ve had a good week. We have finally come to the end of January; it has seemed like a very long month and for anyone who took on Dry January, congratulations and enjoy tomorrow!
The mock exams for all year groups have now finished, and we are focused on using the results to identify areas for improvement. While students in Y11 won’t receive their results until after half term, staff will be working hard to mark them and, in the meantime, will continue to guide students on the specific areas they need to work on.
For Year 11, the mock results day has historically been an incredibly valuable experience, helping students realise whether they need to step up their efforts or continue with their current approach if they’ve done well. This can be a powerful moment in their academic journey.
As a school, we are always striving to improve our communication with parents. To help us in this process, we would greatly appreciate it if you could take a few minutes to complete the questionnaire linked below. Your feedback is vital in helping us assess and refine our current practices.
Additionally, a couple of weeks ago, we sent out a request for parents to get involved with fundraising and support our Parents in Partnership initiative. If you’re interested in getting involved, please contact Mrs Brown at: k.brown@alsagerschool.org.
On a positive note, I’ve had the pleasure of visiting some fantastic lessons this week. The Year 8 students’ knowledge of Fauvism was impressive, and I also witnessed some real resilience in maths lessons as students tackled tricky equations. It’s always inspiring to see our students engaged and pushing themselves.
I also had some lovely conversations with students in the lunch queue. One interesting piece of feedback that came up was about rewards, and several students mentioned the idea of an early dinner pass on Chip Friday. I’ll definitely be looking into how we can explore this suggestion further.
A gentle reminder to maintain respectful communication with our staff. We all share the common goal of supporting and nurturing the children in our care, and we believe that working together in a positive and respectful manner is the best way to achieve this. Let’s continue to foster a collaborative and supportive environment for the benefit of our students.
As always, thank you for your continued support, and whatever your plans, have a lovely weekend.
