You will be aware that we have there has been a confirmed case of COVID-19 within the school.I have liaised with Public Health England and would like to thank you for your patience and understanding whilst we deal with this.
We know that you may find this concerning, but we are continuing to monitor the situation and are working closely with Public Health England and are following their advice. This letter is to inform you of the current situation and provide advice on how to support your child. Please be reassured that for most people, coronavirus (COVID-19) will be a mild illness.
We currently require all Y10 students to remain at home and self-isolate, until further notice. The self-isolation period will last until Wednesday 21st October, unless you are informed otherwise, by the school. All Y10 students should return to school on Wednesday 21st October. Other members of your household can continue normal activities provided your child does not develop symptoms within the 14-day isolation period.
All lessons for Y10 will be live lessons via Teams, until further notice. Mr Pearce, Assistant Headteacher with responsibility for teaching and learning, will email all Y10 students with details.
The school remains open for all other year groups, unless they have been informed otherwise.
What to do if your child develops symptoms of COVID 19
If your child develops symptoms of COVID-19, they must not come to school and should remain at home for at least 10 days from the date when their symptoms appeared. Anyone with symptoms will be eligible for testing and this can be arranged via https://www.nhs.uk/ask-for-a-coronavirus-test or by calling 119.
All other household members who remain well, must stay at home and not leave the house for 14 days. This includes anyone in your ‘Support Bubble’.
