We have finally made it to December and whilst we only have two weeks of the term left, we are starting to see some very tired students. Whether it’s the later bedtimes, lockdown or the high effort levels in lessons, they all definitely deserve a restful break.
Year 11 have finally finished their mocks; behaviour has been fantastic, and we will reward them all with a breakfast on Wednesday morning.
I have been into many lessons this week and seen lots of fantastic activities taking place; there have been in depth discussions and some really challenging questions. However, perhaps the most thought-provoking question of all this week is whether a scotch egg is a main meal or a starter. Having previously consigned it to the ‘eat whilst you’re preparing the buffet’ category, I am not quite sure where I sit on this.
Education has been in the headlines with the Government proposing to implement some changes to GCSEs and A Levels next year. Once we have full details we will share these with you. Thank you to all parents who wrote to Fiona Bruce to voice your concerns.
I know that many of you are concerned about the potential of having to self-isolate over the Christmas holidays and are currently making preparations for meeting up with relatives. I am sure many of you are excited about older children retuning from university, as well. Although there has been much talk about schools finishing early so that families can still get together over the Christmas period, we must keep to our published dates. We will, however, finish at 12:10 on Friday 18th December.
