Risk Assessment Update – Face Masks

Good morning

I hope that you have enjoyed the first week of your child being back at school.  The students have been fantastic and it has been so nice to see them all again.  They have responded really well to all of the measures that we have put in place and exit and entry into school is starting to run a lot more smoothly.

When I wrote to you last week, I said that I would review the risk assessment in light of a large number of students returning to our campus.  We have spent this week reviewing the processes that we have in place to reduce risk around the site and as of Monday, (September 7th 2020), we will be making the following changes as a result of our observations and in response to feedback.   We will be asking all students and staff to wear masks or visors in corridors and at wet break.  We have recognised key areas where students may not always be able to stay in their bubbles or maintain a safer distance between each other.  We expect all students to wear a face covering in corridors and during wet break areas unless your child is exempt from wearing a face covering.  If your child is concerned or worried about wearing a face covering, please contact your child’s head of college.

We have enjoyed a really purposeful atmosphere this week at school.  I will of course continue to monitor the current provision and will communicate any changes to our risk assessment.

Kind regards

Mrs A O’Neill

Head of School
