Dear all Parents/Carers
I wanted to make you aware of how the LRC will operate regarding COVID.
During lessons LRC will be used for additional timetabled lessons and individual Sixth Form work. Outside lesson time (main break & lunchtime) students will have access on a rota basis:
Monday – Year 8
Tuesday – Year 9
Wednesday – Year 10
Thursday – Year 7
Friday – Year 11
Chairs and tables will remain in their set positions. Hand sanitiser is provided and must be used when entering the LRC and regular cleaning of the LRC will take place.
Our reading lessons for years 7 & 8 will continue but we are asking if as many students as possible could bring books in from home as we have quarantine procedures in place for books that need to be followed.
We will still be loaning out books, and have new stock arriving regularly, and hope to operate a few new systems:
- Click and collect
- Click and deliver
- Self-Issue
All students in years 7-13 have been issued, via email, with their Reader ID and password so they can access the MyCirqu app or their library record through the library catalogue which is found on SharePoint. From there they can view all our stock in the library catalogue and will be able to make reservations for books they want to borrow.
We will continue to open until 4:30 Monday-Thursday (we close at 3:15pm on a Friday) for those needing to use the resource for their homework. All year groups are welcome, but there will be zoned areas. The main change will be that parents need to book at space for their child(ren) to use after school. This can be done by either emailing lrc@alsagerschool.org or phoning direct on 01270 871133 to notify Mrs Griffiths or Mrs Downey of their requirements.
